Zero Plastic Campaign at Mullurkkara Panchayath

The AITE , pertaining to the 2023 Environmental Week Celebration Theme of "Beat Plastic" to launch a Zero Plastic Campaign Mullurkara Panchayath. The objective of the campaign is to create an awareness on reducing the plastic wastes, effective recycling and plastic waste management, and potential health risks associated with burning plastics and also the environmental impact of dumping plastics in open spaces.

Initially, the AITE students conducted a cleaning campaign to provide a positive example for everyone on how to reduce plastic waste, sort it, and sent it for recycling. Along with raising awareness and distributing pamphlets about how to reduce plastic trash generated at home, they also conducted a survey to find out how much people know about the aforementioned facts. Additionally, they also educated people about how to manage plastic garbage and the possible health risks associated with burning plastic. The students emphasized to quit the single-use bag, adopt any bags at home and simply re-use. Single Use Plastics that are used once cannot be readily recycled. Its extreme low weight causes it to litter, wind up in landfills, drains, and our waterways, posing a risk to the environment.

AITE has consistently upheld societal welfare and fulfilled its obligations to the local community. This project is a modest step in addressing the terrible and difficult plastic pollution that is destroying the ecosystem as a whole. And we think that when everyone works together to Beat Plastic, the world can change.
