CURRICULUM

 Incorporating multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches, student teachers build 21st-century skills, make connections between different subjects, and gain a deeper understanding of current issues. It also helps to have well-rounded teachers capable of integrating diverse teaching methods and strategies in future classrooms.

For the successful implementation of these approaches, the Institution offers B.Ed. courses in five disciplines: English, Mathematics, Natural Science, Physical science, and Social Science. The various disciplines of education are integrated into the four semesters of the B.Ed. course.

The core course offers:

· Educational Philosophy (Education in Contemporary India, Perspectives on Education, Educational Thoughts and Practice)

· Educational Psychology (Development of Learners, Facilitating Learning)

· School Organization (Institutional Administration, Management, and Planning; Organizing Health and Physical Education Activities at Schools; First Aid; Yoga Education; Nutrition in Schools)

· Understanding Disciplines and Subjects (All School Subjects)

· Assessment for Learning (Measurement, CCE, Tools and Techniques for Classroom Assessment, Statistical Techniques for Interpreting and Reporting Data)

· Sociological perspectives on Education (Gender, school, and Society)

· Creating an Inclusive School

· Enhancing Professional Capacities (EPC): EPC -1: Language Across Curriculum: Reading and Reflecting on Texts such as Articles, Journals, Magazines, Books, Question Papers, etc. of various disciplines EPC-2: Art and Drama in Education: Art Integration in Education EPC-3: Critical Understanding of ICT, which includes the creation of Digital textbooks and e-resources, ICT integration with Pedagogy, e-content development using the latest updates in ICT, EPC-4: Understanding the Self: A SWOT Analysis of Oneself as a Prospective The teacher reports the lessons learned from the sharing of experiences among peers in various disciplines.

· Yoga Health and Physical Education (Theory and Practice of Yoga, Preparation of Physical Education Lesson Plans)

· Socially useful, Productive work, and Working with the community

· Workshops on Teacher Enrichment (Preparation of Teaching and Learning Materials)

· Initiatory (Familiarizing the School Environment and Practical Training of Teaching and Functioning of the School)

· School Internship Program (16 weeks to Experience the school in its totality)

The optional courses are:

Theoretical Bases, Pedagogic Practices, and Professionalizing in English, Mathematics, Physical Science, Natural Science, and Social Sciences offers a comprehensive coverage of themes and a rigorous field for the child, school, and community. Various practicals like microteaching, Peer discussions for the preparation of Lesson plans, Observation of Demonstration classes, Criticism classes for practicing macro lessons, and practice teaching during the internship enhance competency in teaching skills.

Through Day Celebrations, Various Club Activities, Seminars, Debates, Workshops, Field Visits to Historical Important Sites, and all the students are made aware of the different cultures, disciplines etc. 

For instance, an awareness program related to the Environment Week celebration includes elements from Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Environmental Science, History, Economics, Sociology, Culture, and current affairs to give a comprehensive understanding of various disciplines. Even though the Environmental Week Program was conducted by the Natural Science Option students, the same was meant for the collaborative learning of the participants of the different option students, enhancing the integration of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary learning by the student teachers.
