Arafa Institute For Teacher Education, Attur,  has conducted the Onam celebration *ARPOO IRROO 2K23" on 25th August 2023 to mark unity and equality among the student community.

We welcomed Onam with a huge 'flower carpet' made by the students . As a feast to our eyes everyone was wearing dhoti and saree which is a traditional outfit of Kerala. Students performed 'Thiruvathira', the cultural dance of Kerala.

Students arranged colorful competitions. The 'Malayali Manka' and 'Kerala Sreeman' competitions were conducted for students. Ms. Sreelakshmi P., from the Physical science option has won the ‘Malayali Manka’ title and Mohamed Fahiz U T from English option has won the ‘Kerala Sreeman’ title. This was followed by the 'Onam song competition', each song narrates the tale of King Mahabali, his boundless benevolence, and his annual visit to his subjects during Onam. There was ‘Uri Adi’ where the active participation of students made this competition more interesting. Cultural events were presented from each department which was real entertainment.

Another attraction of the day was the traditional ‘Onasadya’ that comprised more than 10 dishes and payasam. A 'Tug of War' (Vadam vali) was also arranged for the students who participated in the competition with great enthusiasm.

The  prizes had been distributed by the faculties. The program came to an end at 3:30 pm. Onam celebration of the Academic year 2023-24 became one of the memorable event.

OBJECTIVES  Reduce single-use plastic consumption. Promote plastic recycling Educate residents about the harmful effects of plastic pollution. CAMPAIGN PLAN Environment Club members and the Natural Science department worked together to create a thorough plan that outlined the campaign's timeframe, activities, and required materials.
